I'm Rick — a portrait, family, and event photographer based in Brisbane, with over a decade behind the camera across the United States and Australia. My work is built around one idea: every photo should feel real. Not staged, not stiff — just genuinely you, caught in a moment that matters.

That idea plays out everywhere I shoot — a family laughing between poses, a Year 12 student beaming at their formal, a stranger caught mid-stride on a city street. From portraits and family sessions to school photography and event coverage, the goal never changes: capture people as they actually are.

Outside of client work, I'm usually chasing light somewhere — wildlife, landscapes, the quiet moments of city life. It's the same instinct that drives the portrait work, just pointed at the wider world.

These days I also teach — not textbook theory, but the techniques and mindset that actually turn snapshots into images worth keeping. One-on-one, at your pace, whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or trying to break through a plateau.
